Przecław Vital Records

From 1998-2001 I transcribed over 14,000 vital records (birth, death, marriage) from the locations in an around the areas where my 19th century Polish ancestors lived, which were the villages in and around Precław in present day Pokarpackie, Poland. My great-grandfather's family primarily came from Wyłow, Kądizołki, and Nagoszyn. My great-grandmother's family primarily came from Tuszyma, Dobrynin, and Ruda. Here is a map of the village locations in comparison to Przecław, the closest town to all of these villages. Mielec, about 10 km north/northwest of Precław, is the major city of the area. Rzeszów is the capital of the current voivodeship (or state) and is located 20 km to the south.
 

During the 19th century, this part of Poland was governed by first the Austrian Empire and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Both governments called this area Galicia, with often varying borders for administrative districts. Generally, the parts in the direct area around Precław and north were part of Mielec, while the southern parts (like Nagoszyn) were part of Ropczyce.
