The Fourth Annual Montgomery Burns Tournament For Outstanding Achievement In the Field of Popular Culture Results
The Fourth Annual Montgomery Burns Tournament For Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Popular Culture was held on 3 August 2002 on the campus of the University of Michigan. 15 players participated in truncated games (15 tossups) in order to complete a full round-robin. All ties in the standings were broken by a single game playoff. Congratulations to Craig Barker (overall champ) and Stephaine Walker (undergrad champ). For Craig's troubles, he won a Soundtrack for the Wheel of Time. Additionally, the Weakest Link all-star game was held (and taped) and was won for a second year in a row by Dwight Kidder, who out of a possible 40 dollars, won a pathetic 93 cents.
Extra special thanks to our moderators: Anne Mitchell, Kevin Olmstead, Emily Moore, Steve Traicoff, Matt Lafer, Allison Manzuk and Bonnie Newill. Also thanks to Charlie Steinhice for mirroring and providing us with the tiebreaker packet.

Packet Difficulty
Packet difficulty is determined by adding the average points per game for the players playing a particular packet and subtracting that figure from the amount of points actually scored for that packet. The higher the number, the easier the packet while a negative number indicates a hard packet. The colors in the chart below correspond to what packet was played for each of the games listed above. Upsets refer to the number of times a player defeated another player with more wins based on final standings for that packet.
