Personal Stuff Welcome to my non-income-producing place on the World Wide Web. Here you will find out what I like, what I've done, and why I really need to get a life. If you really care, I'm in my mid 30's and pretty much have two hobbies - competitions of any kind and genealogy. Presently I am a resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan and am under the employ of All Media Guide, a subsidiary of Alliance Entertainment, which is owned by Yucaipa companies, who are pretty secretive and don't have a web site. They also have a stake in Fred Meyer Stores, Sean John clothing and the Kroger Corporation.

Genealogy Since starting in 1997, I have collected nearly 10,000 names to my family tree. Also, during a spate of unemployment in 1998, I transcribed over 10,000 vital records from the southern portions of the Mielec regions of Poland. I have made these records available on- line for simple searching. I ask that if you do find a match to someone you've been looking for, please let me know so I can see if we're somehow releated.

MIDI Back before genealogy was a primary pursuit, I spent time making MIDI files. I don't do as much as I used to anymore, mainly since it takes much more effort to do a quality file since sound cards have improved drastically since my little six-voice AdLib back in 1988. I have about 15 songs there, and I may add some later, I'm just not in a rush to do it now.

Academic Competitions I'm pretty heavily involved in the Acadmeic Competition world. Although it's just supposed to be for college students, there's room for the people who have left their college days behind. Michigan Academic Competitions, the group I'm presently affiliated with, is one of the premier groups in the country. I was on the team that have won five TRASH regional championships, three TRASH national championships, two Trashmasters and numerous other one-off invitationals. Other people within the group have in the last ten years won four CBI national championships, eight CBI regional championships, a few ACF regional championships, a Penn Bowl and numerous other invitationals. Also, I am a member of NAQT, a fine group of folks trying to increase the quality of the quiz bowl circuit by leaving the game show elements of the competition behind.

Game Shows Before the Internet, I thought I was one of the very few people who liked game shows. Since the Internet, I realized how wrong I was. Since every other topic on game shows was pretty much covered, I did some research on those shows that never were -- pilots. Lots and lots of pilots.

Athletic Competitions I'm not the world's best athelete. I'm probably a cut above the world's worst athelete. But I try. I'm on my company softball team, and I use to play hockey until I wrecked my ankle in 2001. I was also once pretty heavily involved in fantasy sports and sports simulation games, although that activity has waned. What I pretty much play now is just for fun, including some weird sport crossing cricket and golf we're playing at work.

Research Since I'm never going to have the time nor the want of the drop of income to do full-time research, I occasionally just push out something and put it out for the world.
